François Couperin: Pièces de Clavecin 18

Esteemed Readers, today I present you an elegant & a sophisticated set for harpsichord composed by François Couperin. N18 is made in F major, if it means you something.

In my first posts of this year dedicated to the genius of Louis XIV I have expressed you my presumption  that Vinicius de Moraes might be a reincarnation of this great soul. The piece N18 in F major seems to have something in common with Bossa Nova. Might it be or not? Anyway, I’m not a music specialist, it’s just my personal vision. Enjoy the music of the Grand Siècle! 😊😊😊

Vive le Roy! 🎇

PS: Painting by Claude Lorrain

Il pezzo è delizioso….ma sulla bossa nova…insomma..non trovo corrispondenza.

  2. Thank you, Dear Maria. I agree, something in common with a Bossa Nova
