Happy Easter, Hester! By the way, do you celebrate Easter in the South Africa? If yes, in what way?

      • HesterLeyNel says:

The religious folks attend a church sermon early in the morning on Good Friday and again on Sunday. The sermons usually include performances reenacting the crucifixion, but on a small scale (I know that in some countries the whole village will participate in such a performance in public). Children are given Easter eggs and have treasure hunts to find the eggs, but overall the festivities are low key and the weekend is spent with family and friends. The weekend is the height of the end of summer holidays and many people travel great distances to their holiday destinations. Do you celebrate Easter in a special way, Maria?

      • kethuprofumo says:

Oh, well…As I belong to the Orthodox tradition & Easter is indeed a great festive for us. We usually celebrate at home with home made Easter cake. It’s a tradition of my family. My mother makes it. We exchange greetings, etc. We don’t often attend the church, but always watch Easter broadcasting from our main Cathedral, as it’s very solemn. How interesting…you have seasons upside down 🙂 🙂 🙂 Amazing!

Yes, today was the perfect day for the beach and we spent hours swimming in the waves and floating in the tidal pool. Late June, beginning of July is also holiday season here, although temperatures are a little lower and our winter is not that bad.

Incredible! Oh, well…you live in a little Paradise! Do you often meet elephants? Or they don’t spend so much time on the beach 🙂 🙂 🙂

      • HesterLeyNel says:

Haha, no, we have no big game here. The only elephants I meet will be in nature reserves in other parts of the country.
