Modernity

July 14 The French celebrate Bastille Day. It is a symbol of freedom,
equality. Nevertheless The French Revolution was one of the most tragic events
in human history. It erased old traditions and rules the society had been
keeping for many centuries. It destroyed the balance have existed in  our ancestors’ life, without creating something worthy instead.  Liberté, egalité, fraternité brought us
to forgetting our roots, voluntary labour, total atheism and general cultural
and moral principles negation. The Great Revolution perverted art, family and
personal values, the life itself. These are some consequences of the Bastille demolishing.
In fact, what do the French celebrate: the day of freedom or the day
of the world collapse?
