Tico & the Man’s Stories VII: Mr. Tucchini’s Scores

First performances of “The Constellation Orchestra” were held without Tico. He was an impatient spectator cheering his team behind the stage. Our hero was very delighted to be together with others but he got scared when he was carried out to the stage. Oh, this unknown darkness full of numerous curious eyes! Oh, the bright light of floodlights! Oh, this excitement that made his own voice so strange to him! And at last, oh, this joy of cheerful ‘Bravo!’ and a rain of flowers for him!

Tico’s success was instant, but our hero was a very modest bird. Mr Tucchini’s lessons did not pass in vain. Tico remembered about a singer’s dignity and modesty all the time. These days he often thought about his passed teacher and his restless family. Into the depth of his soul he missed those wonderful days that had seemed to him dull and simple. Only now he began realizing how wonderful these moments were. Maybe, it was so as they had been moments of blissful serenity when everything had been easy and clear. One of this nostalgic evening before going to sleep Tico suddenly remembered about the scores and called Lady Gina to learn where they were.

‘I’m glad that you are a grateful parrot, Tico. You have kept good memories about your teacher no matter his awful temper and behaviour with you. Here are his scores. They are too difficult for you to be read yet but soon you will be able to. Frank is a good teacher. His knowledge is very profound. Take the scores and do with them whatever you wish.’

Fairy Lady Gina left the pack of musical sheets on the table in Tico’s room and disappeared. The parrot became curious. He tried to look through them but everything was so strange to him that he gave it up and decided to show them to Frank. The conductor was surprised and perplexed as he had never seen ones written by a bird.

‘Oh-ho-ho, dear friend Tico! That’s sounds amusing! Bird Scores! OMG! I wonder…I wonder…Not an easy thing to comprehend, you know! All right, keep it in a safe place. We will find time for them one day.’

  1. Another lovely episode, Dear Maria. I could almost feel poor Tico’s stage fright. Curious are these sheets of music. There is more coming about them, I’m sure. Thank you for sharing the story.
