Louis XIV Asks Riddles VII

Esteemed Readers, I have discovered for you this timeless riddle. It is urgent in any epoch, any year, any moment. Let my words be a good hint for you. Besides, we experience this riddle constantly & we cannot help it by no means. Good luck! 🥤

“I’m short & long, I’m one & I’m numerous, happy & unhappy, sad & full of joy. For a voracious monster I’m always a prey. I’m born in one place & die in some others ones. I’m influenced with cold & heat. Once I’m dry, once I’m wet. Everybody likes to see me, while I remain invisible. My beauty is inspired with brilliance of any kind. It is necessary for nourishing & for funerals, for treaties of peace & for battles; to make a sacrifice or to crown a King. I’m as old as Time, Air & Light. I appear from underwater as without waters I’m nothing, while the waters are nothing without me”.

  1. This is impossible, Maria. I was thinking of air and then it was mentioned. I’m going to say Salt. 😁
