Vinicius de Moraes & Toquinho: Astronauta

Esteemed Readers, I’m glad to present you this old vintage music piece by young Vinicius de Moraes. “O Astronauta” (1962) is a wonderful summer composition telling about searching of love. Enjoy it!

  1. It does bring back memories of 1962. I was a junior in college and felt like I was beginning to understand how things worked. Yes, and searching for love. Thank you, Dear Maria.

Oh, sweet memories! Far 1962! It was too far from my birth. It was Khrushev’s time in the USSR: corn in the Polar Nord, Kuzkina mat’ & nothing to eat…:-)

      • The “Kuzkina mat” was detonated on October 30, 1961 at the Sukhoy Nos facility. It was the most powerful weapon in the world. The mushroom cloud was 67 kilometers high, and the radiation caused severe burns within a 100-kilometer radius from the epicenter of the explosion. The witnesses felt the impact one thousand kilometers away from the explosion, and the sound wave reached Dickson Island, 800 kilometers from the facility. Khrushev lost a lot of face over the corn debacle. Thanks for the memories.

  2. You have a wide range of music Maria, fabulous.
