François Couperin: Leçons de ténèbres

François Couperin has composed plenty of wonderful sacral works. “Leçons de ténèbres/Tenebrae Readings for Holy Wednesday” (1714) is one them. The set consists of three substantial pieces based on the Old Testament Book of Lamentation.

Today, Esteemed Readers, I present you the first Lesson. Let peace be with all of you.

Vive le Roy! 🙂
