Tom Jobim: Dindi

“Dindi” is another golden hit & bossa nova standard composed by Tom Jobim in 1959. It is dedicated to a place named Dirindi where the composer & his devoted friend Vinicius de Moraes used to go. It is another masterpiece praising nature, beauties of Brasil veiled with a certain music theme of saudade/sadness.

The piece reminds of a river current flowing leisurely somewhere in the depth of the selva. It expresses a particular profound connection between the nature & its sounds Tom Jobim managed to reveal us in his eternal composition.

  4. What a lovely comparison for this song, Maria. I love the idea of a lazy and relaxed river.
