28 synonyms of Happiness

Looking through the dictionary I’ve discovered a rather curious list of synonyms which makes the word ‘happiness’ definitely brighter:

beatitude, blessedness, bliss, cheerfulness, cheeriness, content, contentment, delectation, delight, enjoyment, euphoria, exhilaration, felicity, gaiety, gladness, glee, good spirits, high spirits, joy, jubilation, merriment, mirth, optimism, peace of mind, pleasure, prosperity, rejoicing, well being

As well it’s interesting to learn that since 1520s the word bears the meaning ‘good fortune’, while since 1590s ‘pleasant and contented mental state’.
